Meet Sara-Lynn

Hello!  Last but not least I'm Sara-Lynn.  I'm the one that is "almost" married as previously mentioned in our group introduction.  I'm a mom to a young adult daughter and a 4-legged (chocolate lab who's an old man).  I'm a very new small business owner as well.  My connection to this tribe/blog comes into play with my "almost" husband, he's a first responder and we are a part of the Red Knights Motorcycle Club.   Have you figured out that is the glue that brought us all together?   This tribe came about at the perfect time in my life.  I was working full-time for a large grocery chain as a Purchasing Assistant and due to the pandemic, I was learning to adjust to working virtually and being an "essential employee".  Ironically, I found it to be a blessing in disguise and exactly what my health needed.  I have a rare  medical condition  (well rare as defined as affects 1 in a million Americans at birth "rare", but th...

Meet Ninja

Hey Yall ! My name is Ninja. No, my mother didn’t name me that, it’s my road name given to me by a brother rider. Yes, I ride my own motorcycle. I’m also a volunteer firefighter and so I belong to Red Knights which is the largest firefighter motorcycle club in the world. That’s how I met the rest of the beautiful sisters in the Traveling Tribe!     Less than a year and a half ago I married the love of my life. We had the most amazing wedding and were married barefoot on the beach in Barbados! It was amazingly perfect! My husband is a retired police officer and he is also a volunteer firefighter that rides a motorcycle. Our story is a motorcycle club love story!       Okay, so the real job that pays my bills and for my vacations is that I am an ER Nurse. I have been a nurse for almost 15 years. I still love what I do most of the time but like in any job, there are good days and bad days. Currently, I am on my first travel nurse assignme...

Meet Masshole Meemaw

Image
Hello! I’m known as Masshole Meemaw. I am a grateful woman who is a mom, a grammie, and a fairly new wife of a firefighter. That’s where my portion of this blog comes into play. When I married my husband I became a welcome member of the Red Knights Motorcycle Club . He has been in this club since the 80s. I’ve met and become friends with so many wonderful people in this organization. After a few years, I finally felt a little more comfortable at their organized events. A couple of years ago we were invited to spend a week with four other couples in Tennessee. I only knew one of the couples. Little did I know that these women would become my tribe.  What I’d like to bring to this blog is some positivity and to let women know how much they can learn from every generation. And to not take things so seriously, life’s too short, like me!  We are all different in age and are in different stages of life. We have a bond that I truly cherish. I never realized how important it is to h...

Meet BoPeep

Hello!   I’m 45 yrs old and married to the love of my life Michael aka Woody.   We have been married for 12 years going on 13.  I have two amazing pups Bonnie and Clyde who definitely keep me on my “toes”. Woody is a career firefighter in the city where we live.  We are avid motorcyclists and love riding frequently.   In 2016 a group of us rekindled a chapter of the Red Knights International Firefighter Motorcycle club , and thus began our whirlwind introduction to the club life.  Woody and I attended our first event called KORT (Knights of the Round Table).  It is a competition between the Red, Blue, and Green Knights.  This was the first time meeting any other Red Knights and opening our eyes to a whole other side.  From there we started attending other events hosted by other Red Knights. When covid hit obviously nothing was happening.  One of my tribe members and another started a weekly zoom on Sunday nights for Red Kni...

Welcome to the Tribe…

The Traveling Tribe… This tribe is made up of 5 beautiful, inspirational, talented, and empowering women who are all in different stages of life! The tribe is composed of 4 married ladies (all fire/police wives) and one that is almost married.  Some are small business owners, one is a medical professional and also a kickass firefighter, one just left a retail job with over a decade in the field, and another is counting the days till retirement (well all of us are in some way shape, or form), but one definitely can see the light at the end of the tunnel and it ain't no train!  A few ladies have been divorced, we have all had our share of heartbreak, dealt with mental health issues, lost a job or two, some attended college, some raised kids, a few have overcome medical issues, had financial struggles, fought demons and some are still fighting, and one is just a crazy plant lover, and we have all learned a lot along the way. While we have only been officially a tribe since 2020...
