Meet Faith
What's up, everybody? My name is Faith. Introductions are always hard for me because I am still trying to figure out who I am. Yeah, I’m a wife and Mother but that’s not who I am.
I met my husband almost 18 years ago. He showed me what being taken care of was supposed to look and feel like. We got married in 2007, bought our first house in 2008, and had our only son in 2010. Shortly after that, He accepted a position at the local fire department and we started navigating the world of the fire service. Spoiler alert, “Rescue me” does not provide a realistic image of what “fire families” are like.
We are raising our son with what some would probably consider old-world views. He is expected to use manors and play outside. We are often told we are too hard on him. I don’t think we are. He is turning into a fine young man with a work ethic and a willingness to step up and help when he is needed. He has adopted the same love of motorcycles as his father and grandfather have. He started riding his first dirt bike when he was 2 with some hand-crafted training wheels and he was hooked.
I myself am what I like to call a creative entrepreneur. I am always looking for ways to make money in creative ways. I was a retail manager for almost 20 years and during the pandemic, I was forced to step down and eventually quit all together. Which turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Being home with a very independent 11-year-old I found ways to occupy my time. It allowed me more time to focus on my photography business. I started taking business classes and was able to really put myself out there. I also started learning how to use epoxy and started learning how to make cups. Just for fun. When my friends saw what I was creating they encouraged me to make a business out of it. Within a week I had 20 orders for Christmas. I have now made well over 300 cups and have branched out into other items on my storefront.
A year ago my husband transferred to a new Fire Department in the town he grew up in. So many doors opened for this transition for us, from the expedient sale of our first home to finding out the house his grandfather built was going on the market. Our son was also transitioning from elementary school to a regional middle school. So the timing for all of us was perfect. Along with this transition, I made the decision to rebuild my business and completely change direction and focus on pet photography. Over the last few months, I have really focused on the foundation of my business and am excited about what I am building.
Now. Somewhere along this timeline, we joined a motorcycle club that was started by firefighters. That was the best life choice we have ever made. The doors it opened and the stories that have and will come from this group are unforgettable.
I’m truly going to enjoy your following you ladies.
